This next chapter is about him going out for a swim at the public beach down by the
Harbor after being at home for days. While he is out swimming, he comes across a girl that he used to like because they used to work together. They swim together for a while and then the same evening, they decided to go see a movie together. She then went back to his place, and when he awoke, she was gone. He ends up feeling kind of sad for himself and so he thinks about Maman and then realizes that really nothing has changed from before. It just shows how short life really can be and that you have to live each day like it really is your last, appreciate it like there's no tomorrow.
This sounds to me more like a Nicholas Sparks book then anything else. I can see the theme of reminiscing and rekindling because he tries to take every chance he can such as trying to start a new relationship with his old crush, knowing that tomorrow could be his last day. I like sappy love stories, so I would definitely read this.
ReplyDeleteHis thoughts are really like living life like it could your last day. He doesn't want to have any regrets. And if he didn't at least try with her, he would definitely regret it.
ReplyDeleteI hope he sees that girl agian! I Love sappy stuff so can't wait to hear the rest of your blog!
ReplyDeleteThere isn't much sappy about this novel, Liv. In fact, it's the opposite. It makes the reader consider a life where NOTHING really matters. Difficult to conceive, I think.
